Japanese Create Robotic Clone of Extinct Fish -- Staff  -- BBC News  -- February 25, 1999

A team of Japanese scientists have created a robotic replica of a rare species of fish. The title of the article is kind of misleading as the robotic fish is intended to replace the real species, not resurrect. The scientists plan on using their invention in 'virtual aquariums' or for submarine research.
