9 out of every 10 'fireballs', or small asteroids that break through the earth's atmosphere, go unnoticed except by military satellites in the DSP network. Military and civillian experts argue that the defense department should make this data available to the public in a systematic and timely fashion to avoid potential nuclear miscalculations.
