By developing a new antireflective coating that boosts the amount of sunlight captured by solar panels and allows those panels to absorb the entire solar spectrum from nearly any angle, the research team has moved academia and industry closer to realizing high-efficiency, cost-effective solar power. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Army Looks to Build World&#039;s Strongest Solar Array</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Army says it wants to build what could be the world&#039;s most powerful solar power plant, as part of a far-reaching effort to cut back on the service&#039;s dependence on fossil fuels. The question is whether the Army will actually make good on its green promises.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Currently, the most powerful photovoltaic array in the country is at Nellis Air Force Base, outside of Las Vegas. It generates about 15 megawatts of power. Other plants are in the works in New Mexico, Arizona and California that could produce up to 300 megawatts.&lt;/p&gt;
